Answer yes, no or not sure.

01

Has your business entity been reviewed for tax efficiency in the last two years?

Your entity type may be costing you. An S corp election or restructure can cut self-employment tax.
02

If you're an S corp, is your salary set using a documented reasonable-compensation analysis?

A salary set too high wastes payroll tax, and one set too low invites IRS scrutiny.
03

Do you contribute to a retirement plan beyond a basic IRA (Solo 401(k), SEP or cash balance)?

You may be missing one of the largest deductions available to owners.
04

If you're an S corp or C corp, does the business reimburse you under an accountable plan for home office, vehicle and phone costs?

These costs may be coming out of after-tax money instead of being deducted.
05

If you're a New York partnership or S corp, have you elected the Pass-Through Entity Tax (PTET)?

You may be losing state tax deductions that the SALT cap otherwise blocks.
06

Did you review your tax position with a CPA before December 31 last year?

Most savings moves have to happen before year end. After that, a CPA can only report what happened.
07

Are your quarterly estimated payments based on this year's actual profit?

You may be overpaying and lending the IRS your cash, or underpaying and building penalties.
08

Are major equipment or vehicle purchases timed with a depreciation plan?

Bonus depreciation and Section 179 only help when purchases are timed on purpose.
09

If family members work in the business, are they paid for real work through payroll?

Paying family for real work can shift income into lower tax brackets.
10

Are your books reconciled every month?

Unreconciled books usually mean missed deductions and a rushed return.
